Queen Nzinga Saturday School Club launched in October 2020 in the middle of the current coronavirus pandemic. We wanted to make sure that the pandemic didn’t worsen our children’s chances of achieving their potential. We wanted to use the time, when learning seemed to slow down, to strive even more to give our students the best opportunities to reconnect with their history and culture, to embrace the values we believe are crucial to addressing the inequalities that exist in today’s society and to continue a tradition of academic excellence.
Descendants was set up in 1993 to work primarily with children and young people of African and caribbean descent. For the past 5 years, Descendants has organised an Achievement award ceremony for children of African and Caribbean descent who are educated in the London borough Of Ealing.
The primary aim of Willesden Supplementary School is to supplement the education that students receive to ensure they are able to take full advantage of their mainstream educational programme. We work with students to nurture their independence and provide support to enable them to develop motivation, confidence and respect. We encourage our learners to develop enquiring minds and provide opportunities that help them to develop morally, socially, spiritually and culturally.
